At Suds of Love, Inc., we are dedicated to restoring hope, dignity, and hygiene to individuals and communities facing homelessness and poverty. We believe that everyone deserves access to basic hygiene facilities and services, which are essential for health, well-being, and self-esteem. Our mission is to provide these crucial resources, ensuring that every person has the opportunity to thrive.

Meet our Founder and Executive Director

Tina M. Bowen is the Founder and Executive Director of Suds of Love, Inc./Suds of Love Truck, a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization established in July 2021.  With a career spanning 31 years, Tina brings a wealth of experience as a retired Special Education Teacher and Educational Leader. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from UNC-Pembroke and furthered her academic pursuits with a Master of Education from Lesley University. She is a recent graduate of the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits 2024 Nonprofit Management Institute. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Tina is committed to her family, service, and advocacy. She is married to Brad Bowen and is a proud mother to Reagan Leigh.  Tina is a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church, Kiwanis of Robeson Lumberton, and lends her expertise to the UNC-Pembroke Thomas College of Business Advisory Board.  She is a former board member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) of Gaston County and remains a current supporter. Her dedication to uplifting underserved communities and individuals is evident through her role as a Guardian Ad Litem and her volunteer work with other local organizations. She firmly believes that it takes a collective effort to effect meaningful change in our communities and to impact the lives of those often marginalized or overlooked.

Dee Grissett

Dee Grissett is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator with the Public Schools of Robeson County. She is an alumna of Johnson C. Smith University (BS-Computer Information Systems/Business) and Fayetteville State University (MBA-Business Administration with a concentration in Management). Prior to working with the public school system, Dee worked for eighteen years as a Financial Aid Counselor in the college setting. She attends Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Fairmont, NC. Her platform for all of her life has been education and service. It is because of that why Dee joined the board of the Suds of Love. She believes that her purpose in life is to provide service when and where she can.

Dr. Miranda Gilchrist McNair

Is a native of Robeson County. She is a product of the Public Schools of Robeson County where she graduated as the 1991 N. C. Teaching Fellows Recipient and Valedictorian of South Robeson High School. She graduated in 1995 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A.Ed., in 1999 from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a M.A.Ed., and in 2014 her Ed.D. in K-12 Teaching and Learning at Argosy University. Miranda is in her 26th year of teaching, holds an active NC Teaching License, teaches NC Math 1 and 2 Honors at Fairmont High, as well as remotely to Red Springs High School; and advises the National Beta Club and National Honor Society. Miranda is a member of First Baptist Church, North Main Street, Fairmont and also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Miranda is the wife of Rev. Brian McNair, and mother to 15-year-old Hannah, an 11th grade Honor Student at Fairmont High School. They are co-founders of Growing with God Ministries, Inc. There is a great need for the Suds Of Love Organization and she is glad to be a is a native of Robeson County.

James G. Blose

Happily married Christian with four kids and twelve grandkids. I have worked in the Finance Accounting profession for over 40 years with great companies like Emerson, CIRCOR, APEX Tool Group and Watts Water Technologies as VP Finance and Controller. I am a CPA (inactive GA) and have two advanced degrees (MBA and MS- Finance from Colorado University). I have served as a deacon, treasurer, accounting supervisor and small group leader in our prior churches. My wife and I enjoy serving as a Dave Ramsey facilitator, teaching personal financial planning. I very much like time with my family, projects, tennis and hiking. I am so excited to be able to serve with this new ministry in our local area.

JC Hunt

Mr. Hunt is a Public Schools of Robeson County retired educator. He attended UNC-Pembroke where he received a degree in History, Social Studies Education, and a Master’s Degree in School Administration. Before entering the field of education, he worked in manufacturing management and insurance sales for over 20 years. He is married to Vickie Hunt and is the proud father of five boys, one stepson, one foster son(who was later adopted), and a grandfather to 15. He and Vicky have been foster parents for four years. In addition, J.C. is an evangelist, attends Annease Drive Praise Worship Center, and is a Sunday School teacher for the adult member's class. His hobbies are yard work, reading the Bible, spending time with family, and shopping. Mr. Hunt has lived in Robeson County for his entire life and is very excited about being a part of Suds of Love.

Jesse Bradley “Brad” Bowen

Is a native of Gaston County and has been living in Robeson County since June 2020. He is happily married to Tina M. Bowen, father to 3 children, and grandfather to 6 grandkids. Brad is the Operations Manager of the Carolinas for Watts Water Technologies. His current “home base” is Mueller Steam Plant in St. Paul’s, N.C. He is a graduate of Belmont Abbey with a degree in Business and minors in finance and economics. In addition, he received his MBA from Winthrop University. His hobbies include travel, spending time with his family, and Bee Keeping. He believes Suds of Love will have a major impact in Robeson County and nearby communities.

Ursula Lowery

Ursula Adams is a native of Robeson County. She comes to us with 8 years of teaching experience in high science as well as being an adjunct at RCC where she has taught biology and Anatomy and Physiology to our local students. She also has experience as a respiratory therapist of 5 years. She worked at SRMC as well as being a respiratory supervisor for a local home health agency. She is an alumna of Robeson Community College as well as UNC- Pembroke where she obtained a BS in Biology and MAT in Science Education 9-12 with 18 hours in Biology. Ursula has three children and one grandson. She attends Vertical Church in Lumberton NC where she fell in love with God all over again. The year 2021 has shown Ursula what God's grace and love looks like. Her hope is to be able to give back to the community the love that God has shown her. Ursula is so happy and blessed to be a part of the Suds Of Love Organization. She knows in her heart that this ministry will not only bless this community that has seen so many hardships over the past 4 years but will bless all those that are involved.
